Amy C. Van Ostrand

Greenfield, Indiana

Amy Van Ostrand was born and raised in the small town of Mojave, California, but fell in love with and adopted the Midwest as her home more than 18 years ago. She concentrates her practice in the areas of wrongful death and personal injury, and finds great fulfillment in representing injured Hoosiers and their families. Amy graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law, magna cum laude, in 1999. After graduating from Illinois, she moved to Indianapolis to begin her career as a business litigator with Faegre Baker Daniels. Several years later, she joined Ladendorf & Ladendorf as an Associate attorney, where she had the privilege of representing people who have been injured due to the negligence of others. Amy practiced law at Ladendorf & Ladendorf from 2005 through 2008, at Hensley Legal Group from 2008 through 2012, and again at Ladendorf & Ladendorf from 2013 through 2015. In addition to having practiced law for more than a decade, Amy spent several years working in the non-profit sector, overseeing media relations for the Humane Society of Indianapolis, and serving as the Executive Director of Indiana Proactive Animal Welfare, Inc., a non-profit organization that spent seven successful years using education and advocacy to reduce the number of homeless dogs and cats euthanized in Indiana. Amy has been admitted to practice law in Indiana since 1999, and has litigated cases in Indiana State and Federal courts. She is also a skilled appellate attorney, with experience authoring briefs to the Indiana Court of Appeals, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She is actively involved in the plaintiff’s bar, and has served as a faculty lecturer for the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA) and the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum (ICLEF), and has written articles for Verdict, the Indiana Trial Lawyer’s Association’s publication. Amy is also a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Hendricks County Bar Association, and the Hamilton County Bar Association. Amy’s practice areas include wrongful death, personal injury, and general civil litigation.
